Betty Galindo is originally from Lafayette, California. She grew up doing choir, musical theater, and any sport that she could get my hands on. She began her performance career through singing, specifically classical voice. As time went on she started gravitating towards the acting scene, and the rest is history! Ever since she found her love for acting she has continued to build her craft as an artist.
She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara receiving her BFA in Acting and BA in Communications. She has trained at the two-time Tony award-winning Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, where she participated in the Theatermakers Intensive program.
During her time at UC Santa Barbara she studied under Annie Torsiglieri, Irwin Appel, Julie Fishell, Michael Morgan, and more. One of her mentors Daniel Stein, was trained by Etienne Decroux, the father of corporeal mime. She has studied various acting and vocal techniques, with such a driven and diversely talented faculty at UCSB.
While at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, she became a recipient of the Miranda Family Fellowship. This is a distinct award by Lin Manuel Miranda and the Miranda Family. This scholarship is for artists of color who have exhibited exceptional passion, drive, and unique points of view in various artistic mediums. She is thankful for her Miranda Fellow family, including her mentors Destiny Lilly, Cesar A Rocha, Betsy Fippinger, and Karen Olivo.
Currently, she trains at The Groundlings, and continues to study comedy and drama at The Lesly Kahn & Co. in Los Angeles, CA.
Upcoming, Betty will be playing "Freya" in the film Not My Fault, which will premiere in Spring 2022. Also, her recent commercial spot with the company YAASA is now airing and can be seen on Hulu, HBO Max, and more.
Health and Joy,
